Eight Second Review: Thor: The Dark World

Thor: The Dark World Review

Overall I liked Kenneth Branagh’s Thor, but his film is one of my least favorite Marvel superhero movies because it’s stuffy and gets bogged down by its brother versus brother conflict. Given how I feel about that flick, I didn’t have high hopes for Alan Taylor’s sequel Thor: The Dark World. I still tried to approach it with an open mind though. Was I surprised by Taylor’s film? Watch my eight second review below to find out.

Directed by: Alan Taylor

Written by: Christopher Yost, Christopher Markus, and Stephen McFeely

Starring: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, and Christopher Eccleston

Summary: Since helping his fellow superheroes defend Earth in The Avengers, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) has fought to tame the Nine Realms and earn his father Odin’s throne. He emerges victorious, but Thor’s celebration is cut short by trouble with his girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). Jane accidentally absorbs an ancient power called the Aether, which the villain Malekith plans to capture so that he can shroud the universe in darkness. Can Thor protect Jane and free the Aether without letting Malekith get a hold of it? To do it he’ll need some help from a reluctant ally.

  • Tom Hiddleston was my favorite part too although Chris Hemsworth still makes a great Thor.

  • Ouch! But I love these fast audio reviews. I haven’t seen Thor 2 yet but I was hoping for more after being disappointed by the first film.

    • Glad to hear you’re digging these quick takes Dan. Should have another one up soon. Thanks for reading/watching!
