GRAVITY Review

Here’s my latest short video review: Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity. Including this one, the last three video reviews have been from my top films of 2013. You can expect to see some soon that didn’t make my list though, because I’m still catching up on reviews from last year. Check this one out and let me know what you think!

Directed by: Alfonso Cuarón

Written by: Alfonso Cuarón and Jonás Cuarón

Starring: Sandra Bullock, George Clooney, and Ed Harris

Summary: Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) is a gifted medical engineer accompanied on her first space mission by seasoned astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney), who’s commanding his last flight before retirement. What should be a routine spacewalk turns disastrous after their space shuttle is destroyed, leaving them completely alone, spiraling into the blackness of space. Can they figure out a way to survive their seemingly hopeless situation?

  • Ha ha. I guess the dialogue wasn't too corny. A- is a right good grade! I loved it too, but definitely better on the big screen than a TV screen.

    • It only really got corny for me toward the end, hence why it didn't affect my grade too much. Agree that it's better on the big screen than the small one. The 3D works better there as well.

  • ...it's this or Scorsese's Wolf for Best Picture...I think. Maybe 12 Years a Slave could sneak in there...depends what mood the Academy is in...

    • Agreed Dan. It's looking pretty dicey. I still think 12 Years has a lot of pull and is the most likely to win, but if any film has a shot to unseat it, Gravity definitely could.

      • ...well, at least I mentioned 12 Years a Slave as a possible winner since I got my prediction wrong. :)
